Toyama Plant 1 is located in Namerikawa City situated in the eastern part of Toyama Prefecture. Toyama Plant 1 comprises the five buildings: Honeycomb, a global development and quality control center, and the four production buildings of Pentagon, Pyramid, Obelisk, and Nexstage.

As the main plant for oral drugs, we are working to enhance a stable supply of high-quality and safe drugs through collaboration with the development and technology departments. In each building, each room has one machine and a perfectly clean environment is achieved by preventing the entry of foreign particles through cross contamination.

The Aichi Plant is located in Kasugai City in Aichi Prefecture, which has an 80% share of seeding cacti in Japan. It is Nichi-Iko’s injection production plant with a site area of 20,000 m².

Of the products handled by the Aichi Plant, 50%-plus consist of liquid-filled products, approximately 40% consist of antibiotics, and 10% comprise lyophilized (freeze-dried) products, with annual production totaling more than 54 million units.

To augment the annual production capacity of 90 million units of injections,we will additionally introduce the latest freeze dryers in an effort to manufacture freeze-dried products in-house as we make a shift away from contract manufacturing of such products.

The Saitama Plant is located in Saitama City in Saitama Prefecture. Although it is not a large plant, with a site area of 7,000 m², it handles the manufacturing of value-added products such as Nichi-Iko’s oral jellies, eye drops, and plastic bottle for single administration.

The oral jelly can be completely pressed out effortlessly by means of Nichi-Iko’s unique airpush packaging. Furthermore, the eye drops and plastic bottle for single administration to be manufactured using a simultaneous molding and filling system utilizes an innovative system that tightly seals the container after simultaneously molding the container and filling it with liquid.

The Yamagata Plant is located in Tendo City in Yamagata Prefecture, which is a famous for shogi pieces production. With a site area of approximately 7,000 m², the Yamagata Plant handles the manufacturing of the Company’s external drugs, primarily heparinoid, a mainstay product of Nichi-Iko.

Regarding the manufacture of heparinoid, a fully automated, integrated line has been introduced, making it possible to conduct manufacturing while being completely cut off from outside air due to full in-line manufacturing.

The Shizuoka Plant is located in Fuji City in Shizuoka Prefecture, offering a view of Mt. Fuji, which was registered as a world heritage site in 2013. With a site area of 110,000 m², the Shizuoka Plant is larger than two Tokyo Dome stadiums in total area and produces general products and injections.
Formulation Building No. 1 has the technology to efficiently carry out manufacturing in large batches and a production line for general products with an annual production capacity of 4.0 billon tablets.
Formulation Building No. 2, which has an annual production capacity of 10 million injections, is completely isolated from Formulation Building No. 1. It is a production line for antibiotic liquid injections.

The Hokkaido Plant is located in Kitahiroshima City in Hokkaido, which is known as “the vast land of the north.” It delivers trust and assurance to our customers by providing reliable disinfectant/antiseptic.

The Hokkaido Plant manufactures various disinfectants/antiseptics such as alcohols, iodines, biguanides, and surfactants, which are widely used for disinfecting the human body and medical equipment/environments mainly at medical institutions.

The Gifu Plant is located in Takayama City in Gifu Prefecture, which is known for its old townscape retaining the climate of Edo era. It is Nichi-Iko’s oral drug and injection plant with a site area of 118,559 m².

The Gifu Plant has an antibiotic and highly potent drug manufacturing area, and has an annual production capacity of 4.0 billion tablets for oral drug. It also has manufacturing facilities for various types of injection such as ampule, vial, syringe, and bag with an annual production capacity of 110 million injectables.
